How are things progressing Tiff?
Had any sleep lately?

Sourcing hard to find parts is discussed at every AGM - it's a mammoth task with all the attached problems:
Who's willing to co-ordinate
Sorting funding
Sorting delivery to one location
Sorting storage of parts - even if they've been pre-paid for, they still need storage room whilst awaiting shipment out to the members
Then the 'co-ordinator' has to pack all the sets up and arrange delivery to the members

No easy task

Unfortunately, over the years, the club has not been in a position and I guess is not in a position now, to commit to buying spares and then pay for all the on costs as a parts retailer would in a commercial environment.
The car clubs who sell large number of parts would, I assume, have large numbers of members to have as customers and be able to employ a Parts Man. Other smaller clubs like ourselves will have to rely on the goodwill and sheer enthusiasm of people like Tiff.
You have my deepest admiration!

Thanks Gomer ,hopefully if this is a sucess we can learn for the future, and ensure the future of Bertone's creation on UK roads! My next job is to picket the houses of Parliment to ban the use of Rock salt in the winter...or build a drive thru sheep dip type invention full of Waxoyl.(kidding):)

Everyone who was in contact has now got payment to me in one form or another, some have dropped out,and a few haven't been in touch yet,but numbers were'nt set in stone so no probs there. I have confirmed orders and payment for 68 struts. If anyone else wants a set,or can get in touch with people who don't read this forum, please let them know. another 8 sets would make up the magic 100!

Gotta thank everyone for putting their trust in me,and for being so helpful with payments and details.Much work still to be done, but full steam ahead for now.

Hi All,

I ordered a set of struts for myself from Summit Racing, and they just arrived here in Cape Town yesterday. I selected the cheapest shipping option (surface) and they have taken about 9 weeks to arrive.

Now I have four nice shinny bits laid out on the lounge floor (much to SWAMBO`s horror)....can`t wait to have them fitted, but I`m still waiting for the springs to arrive!!!

Good luck to all envolved in the mass order, it sounds like a very impressive undertaking!!!

Cheers,

Ross

Tiff, please name and shame them (only because I know it's NOT me !!) :P

Also, what's the deal regarding getting the struts out to the individuals - is this an extra cost, or is there a plan in place ? Sorry if I've missed this info from previous posts.
