Nope Charlie, absolutely not - its dragging on far too long now.

Michael - Im sure a live chat facility could be added to this site easily enough.

PS - Meant to add to my last post, Nothing against the Facebook group, its a nice way to show off pictures of cars, meets etc, but its a shame if technical stuff just gets lost in the facebook group, as if it was in this forum it would be referred to again time and time again.

I go away for a nice weekend and come back to all hells broke lose again.
Why does some of you have to turn this into some sort of personal vendetta?
Sharon your stance to defend your friend is honourable and maybe if the right people had come forward and defended the club and committee position in the first place we wouldn’t be in this place but we are and no amount of crappy emails threats of libel are not going to change the facts.

• Chris placed a vote for himself (everyone seems to agree this is wholly unacceptable)
• Whoever counted his vote and verified his vote didn’t see this as an issue or see fit to report this to the committee, yet on questioning this, all seemed to agree it was not right.
• Two/three members of the committee when this was raised officially to the whole group decided unilaterally it was acceptable and would let it slide (against the whole rules of the committee as it should have been put to all members and discussed but we were not given the chance) at best it should have been balanced by a vote for Les.
• The email address to vote for Les was flawed and it meant several members had their votes for Les not counted, I personally raised this point several weeks before the vote finished but was assured it only happened to me which Sharon you know is not true because it happened to you plus at least 4 other members who have voiced it openly, this only happened to Les vote link not the Chris link.

All these points are facts not opinions and you wonder why Les gets annoyed, let’s stop the childish bickering and move on, and Sharon I respect you and don’t mean to insult you or your friendship but please don’t send me another threatening text please I’m sorry if you don’t like what I say but I always try to tell the truth (based on facts as I know them), telling lies just ends up making you look like a duck head.
Lets just get this resolved please and move on please.
Still waiting for an official response from the committee over above facts and is Chris the Chairman.

I agree Mark, So want to move on from this.

I would say, there was no threat of libel from me, just an advisory re some remarks in the now deleted posts.

Can we all put this down to experience & move forward?

Members,

Things are being sorted out so we can all move on with positive vibes in 2012. I suggest we just leave this thread for now and wait for plans and clear direction for the new year. We are all here for one thing - the passion we have for our cars.
Enjoy your mag - the printers are proofing it as we speak and I am hoping it will be sent out at the start of next week
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year -

Rob

Blind copy on the mass email would have been a good idea as I don't think the club are meant to share private email addresses with the world!!

Thanks Steve for that - I apologies & agree, it wont happen again !

Well the first response from the Chairman since the vote and its aggressive with no apology, its Chris's behaviour that is an absolute disgrace.

Chris you have no regard for the members of this club - i find your personal email arrogant and unacceptable - i propose a vote of no confidence in this Committee and the call for a EGM to vote this corrupt committee OUT
Chris Wrote:
Les,

How dare you send out that email, and to such a wide portion of the membership - this is totally unnacceptable behaviour. I have not resigned my position and you have no right to lay claim to it, especially to the 'audience' that you chose for your emails. You did not win the vote and you are not chairman. Get over it.

I promised Rob that I would phone around a few key members of the committee and I intend to do this over the weekend to re-establish communications after my short sabbatical.

As Rob has pointed out, discussions such as this need to be kept within the committee, not because they're secret or we have anything to hide, but because your email will have come across as confrontational; I don't think the average member wants to hear anyone ranting about voting statistics - this is a car club, after all.

If, by being on the committee, you can't offer a positive influence for the betterment of the club, then please step down. Otherwise, it would be appreciated if we could all get on in a positive and friendly manner.

Regards,
Chris

Hi Les, totally agree with you. The absent chairman has lost support, and a committee vote is only way forward... Could be done quite easily

Definition of a sabbatical!

The foundational Bible passage for sabbatical concepts is Genesis 2:2-3, in which God rested (literally, "ceased" from his labour) after creating the universe, and it is applied to people (Jew and Gentile, slave and free) and even to beasts of burden[disambiguation needed ] in one of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:8-11, reaffirmed in Deuteronomy 5:12-15).

Biblical Sabbath is the origin of the present-day practice of "the weekend", Saturday and Sunday, in which most employees usually do not have scheduled work. Whereas Shabbat (or seventh-day Sabbath) and Christian Sabbath themselves are just one day per week each, both came to be taken off. Among Christians it was considered necessary to do preparatory tasks at home that would permit proper Sabbath observance (i.e., cessation from work) the next day.

In recent times, "sabbatical" has come to mean any extended absence in the career of an individual in order to achieve something. In the modern sense, one takes sabbatical typically to fulfill some goal, e.g., writing a book or traveling extensively for research. Some universities and other institutional employers of scientists, physicians, and/or academics offer the opportunity to qualify for paid sabbatical as an employee benefit, called sabbatical leave. Some companies offer unpaid sabbatical for people wanting to take career breaks; this is a growing trend in the United Kingdom, with 20% of companies having a career break policy, and a further 10% considering introducing one.[1]

In British and Irish students' unions, particularly in higher education institutions, students can be elected to become sabbatical officers of their students' union, either taking a year out of their study (in the academic year following their election) or remaining at the institution for a year following completion of study. Sabbatical officers are usually provided with a living allowance or stipend.

Did you mean that???

Your Last Sabbatical was prior to the Billing National 2011
& then there was the Sabbatical prior to the National 2010

Chris is clearly far far to selfish to do the right thing for this club. He holds on to some sort of oppressive control - this is the United Kingdom, a democratic nation NOT some middle east resigm. Again to echo charlies sentiments this is NOT personal - now do the right thing so that this club can reunite and move forward - if im not the members choice to lead this club then thats fine - but lets be clear, Chris you are not that man and you must stand down & do it very very soon.
