Juliet nice of you to reply and hope all went well,
I don’t agree with name calling or trying to turn this into some sort of personal vendetta that’s not my style it’s a car club, if you want to be an activist or start fights go join another group.
Here’s my last point on this I promise (well one of those promises I make to the wife about finishing that garden wall),
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect some sort of communication on this post from Chris or whoever, this post started over a month ago I know for a fact all the committee have been on this forum in this last few weeks (unless someone has been using there account Lol)
It’s unfair to quote legalities and rules when all most members want is the club back happy and positive, elect bloody Scooby doo if you like as long as he’s active in the club owns a road going car and moves things on but it’s totally unfair when you have new members to this club and Forum and great existing club members who have not been involved directly in this hash of an election ask questions and receive nothing.
You’re kidding yourself if you think what people want for their £30 is a committee, they want the following
• A active positive internet forum
• Problem solving
• A good club Magazine
• Technical info
• Organised events and runs (maybe a party thrown in)
We know this due to the survey that was completed earlier this year none of which is actively forth coming.
Yes I know everyone is busy and have private lives I produced a magazine whilst being away with work 2 nights a week to-in and throw-in between Ireland Poland and the UK, I also have a young family and a half built car in the garage but my point here is if your life doesn’t fit the role don’t do the role, don’t ruin it for others by holding onto a position when you either cannot fulfil the role or just have no intention of participation (the roles are not about meeting every 3 months talking having a nice dinner and going home) I think quoting rules and regs as the reason for keeping the chairman is a big cop out and a little bit hypocritical on more than one level.
I like to think I’m an honourable man I cannot actively join in Chris bashing behind his back and smile to his face, maybe you should have a hard think about that?
As a paid up member for many years and an active member of the club I just want this to end……
I don’t want excuses and I don’t want rules and regs quoted unless everyone is going to abide by them not just quote them when it suits.
The reason this site is quiet is that the active members of the club are not happy and fed up.
And with regards the vote it was wrong and if the shoe was on the other foot no way would the results have been released without a full investigation and maybe a rehash on why the present chairman had not had a fair chance.
I submitted a list of questions and rumours about the election to Rob and the answers that came back shocked me, there was only 80 people voted all votes were counted by hand yet no one thought to say oh look Chris has voted for himself until I asked the question, no one wanted to discuss the voting problems with the Les email address until I raised the point (even after the point was raised before the vote was closed) so what do you think people are suppose to think?
We didn’t care?
Well I did, it’s about time all this crap stopped and things moved on, you stick with supporting the present chairman but you better make sure he’s active and starts to make an effort or this will all backfire on you.
Mark

I'm just an RO who happens to be involved with organising next year's National.
Any info I have came from chatting on skype a coupla times to Rob Cross while he was bored in Cairo.
If there is anything going on at higher committee levels, then I don't know about it, although I suspect nothing is.
Funny thing that, Charlie, a lot of people think that is a pic of me instead of the object of my desire

As to great plans, well Mark has a brilliant one that involves you as technical officer, but I'll leave him to explain it

I think the idea is you show us all how to fit an Uno turbo engine, Charlie
All I know is 2 things:
1) I committed myself to helping organise next year's National
2) Life is too short to fall out with folk
so while those who know me know I'm no wallflower (that's putting it mildly!) I'm just batting on trying to do No 1 and avoiding No 2.
Anyone got a problem with that?
Good.
Now Charlie, how many uno engines do you think you'll need?

But since I still have the password at the moment I have been watching this thread with growing disbelief.
I am interested by this comment
Sparky Rickmaniac wrote: Yes, Chris should be coming out of the woodwork, but his official position has been slightly complicated by the fact that the expected committee meeting didn't go ahead on 27th Nov as expected, so he hasn't been officially announced as chairman yet, maybe he was waiting for that before saying anything, I don't know. Juliet
If Chris is keeping quite until he is officially crowned king then (and I may be wrong) the responsibilities of chairman falls on the previous one and should be working hard to resolve the issues. Which I think was Chris.....
Or is there no chairman at the moment. ??
I think that there should be a date deadline for a response put to the chair person, acting chair person. If there is no response by that date it should be assumed that said person/s have abandoned there position/s and new committee step up. (but in the current climate I think there would be few or no takers)
again I am sorry for coming on line as a now non member but all of this is making me so so sad
Oh and to one and all The Wilson family wishes everyone a very happy Christmas and all the best in the coming new year.
Bye for now
Guy
