Anyone see seven magnificent X1/9's racing round the hills, glens and villages of the Scottish highlands this weekend.....?? One can only imagine how many heads turned with "Blimey! there's another one". Thanks to Ian and Judith for a fantastic weekend!

Fantastic weekend, even the weather was kind, good job,as Dave forgot his roof.....Fantastic roads and scenery, and even the Dolphins made an appearance!
Only 2 breakdowns too,Dave's car cut out on a really bad bend, but turned out to be just a broken terminal on the ignition wire.More seriously, and embarrasingly, the big breakdown of the weekend was mine..temp at 120,steam and smoke everywhere.I really thought it was terminal, especially as the engine was so tight it hardly would turn on the starter.Unbeknown to me,everyone else seemed to think that was the end of the headgasket...but 3 bottles of Highland spring water (thanks Dave) a bleed and for the rest of the weekend it ran between 80 and 90! The timing was too far advanced, but didn't think it would cause overheating like this! I really should have changed my badly damaged radiator ages ago...

Most of all A BIG BIG thankyou to Ian and Judith for their hospitality for the weekend, and thanks to Dave for the tea towel!!!

I didn't get too many photo's,but Ewen took loads, they should be great!

The 2006 Highland weekend was superb. Many thanks to Ian and Judith and to everyone that made the long trek to Inverness.

Think we were being watched  Just as well Gomer wasn't about :P

Not sure about the legal implications of this but I'm sure PC Plod would have a thing or two to say 8)

A closer view of the culprit

Mmmmm, some shifty X1/9 owners about as usual. Would you buy a second hand car from them?

In search of Nessie. Nessie-sery Independent Research at Dores. Word has it this chap is quite a womaniser. I suppose he needs something to do whilst waiting for the monster to appear

For anyone interested in the John Cobb memorial, Highland Classic Motor Club held an event in 2002 to mark the 50th aniversary of his death on Loch Ness. There is a short article about it and about John Cobb on the HCMC website. www.highlandclassic.org.uk/john_cobb.htm
