That looks like my engine!!

A rally cam in a road car is not a good idea unless you like driving around town in 3rd gear! I'd want to whip the head off before bidding as I know how much abuse competition engines get.

Providing the porting is right and with twin 40's, 130bhp wouldn't be unreasonable

I might go have a look at it as the guy is only a few miles from me. I thought the gold engine bay looked familar, however I cant track the sale down so I would assume that the chap who sold it the first time is a mate of him ( both in London Etc ).

I reckon that we should translate the "dealers code" that is quoted in these sorts of adverts. Such as;

Engine sounds good ive just serviced it (pionts condensor plugs and leads) = couldn't be bothered to change the oil!

SORRY MUST ADD TAX IS END OF OCTOBER = the tax is running out sharpish, must flog soon!

Theres probably more, but I didnt want to upset someone!! :twisted: :P

I agree Phil.

I certain amount of reading between the lines is neccessary with many a description.
What always amazes me is when cars have short or no MOT's, and the seller says things like "It would have little trouble getting it's next MOT"....!!!???...for just over £40, the seller could sell a car with a full ticket!...In my view a car is worth little over scrap until it is proven road legal.

That engine on ebay looks nice but beware anyone wishing to bid on it - its not the drop in replacement it appears, an X1/9 rocker cover with throttle linkage will have to be sourced and fitted, ditto engine mounts etc. Also it seems to have a cam driven dizzy and the block mount blanked off....

Well I suppose some might consider that this:
www.reesecustom.com/play/Dells%2 ... t%20LG.jpg

...reaches its exciting, ultimate, extreme, Nirvana in this:
cgi.ebay.co.uk/Exciting-Fiat-Ber ... 05QQrdZ1QQ

Is that what they call a "spoiler" on the boot? Hmmm. Eat your Kart out, Nuccio...

Just out of interest did anyone see how much the (brown) left hand drive xy went for? I was tempted to stick a bid on it, but the thought of having to drive to Huddersfield with the transporter trailer from here in Brittany and drag it back soon brought me to my senses!! Can't seem to find it on the 'finished auctions' - if it went for the £100 it was at the last time I looked I'll be sick though. :roll:
