Gomer,

From reading various threads on here, it seems there have been a few instances of emails going unanswered, and surely there will have been many more that we don't know about. In any organisation such as ours communication is vital to keep members happy and turn prospective members into paid up members [ far too many members in that sentence  ]. However, we always have to remember that the club is staffed by volunteers, who more often than not have a day job which pays the mortgage and hence must take priority. Nevertheless it seems that last year things got a bit strained (largely due to mitigating circumstance - PO box fires, working away). But such problems shouldn't be the burden of one person, which often makes the problems much worse rather than being tackled when small. So communication with your fellow officers is vital to ensure things are working smoothly. When things start running smoothly again there will be less hassle from people like me  .

I hope I don't come across as standing on a soap-box, as I am just speaking from personal opinion as I hold a position of responsibility in a voluntary organisation. I do get very frustrated with many ideas I have to make things better, but the limited time I can devote and lack of members willing to get their own finger out. Consequently I often loose sight of doing the really important things that matter.

All the best for your position as Chairman.

Sorry Nige - I was doing non X1/9 related stuff and the mag !

Part of my message included...

In the future can you email chairman@x1-9ownersclub cos I have such a small brain, that in order for me to reply to a message I need the incoming message to read whilst I answer the questions - I can't remember the questions!... I can't seem to do that with this PM business!

I didn't think about the Back and Forward buttons in IE...duuuuur....

Ok, ok, the spaces didn't work as i intended, i thought Paul would appreciate a game of hangman that's all! Anyway, it seems that i've landed myself the job of RO for our lovely TVS region!

To all those down south, myself & Stuart the slaphead are having a "flag & bunting handover" at a pub somewhere between the two of us, probably south Surrey way (just got to name a venue & date, anyone who knows of a good pub this way please shout!), so please feel free to join us when time & venue are confirmed. Oh Chris, you were right, i am a strange Bozo!!!

Cheers,

Nige

Apologies for not seeing the e-mails from Nige... I didn't see them, maybe Nige is an address that my spam filter doesn't like... it doesn't like Andy's I found out recently...! I am making a point of viewing my spam these days to find the occasional one that gets popped in there.

Maybe Simon has a less aggressive filter and will see the ones I missed. Apologies again all round.

No worries Rob, i don't think there was any else who was overly keen to take on the TVS area!! Look forward to meeting everyone in due course, although the committee meetings need to be a tad closer to my neck of the woods, 8 hours in a car on a Sunday is not my idea of fun!!
