AGM - the aftermath !

Just a quick one to say hi to those that were at the AGM yesterday. I met a few new faces (and lots of old ones !) and had a good day.

Shame on you if you didn't turn up !

Now, Rob W - you ARE going to post up that pic of your car that you have on your phone, aren't you :P

Biggest shock of the day had to be Mark, who drove out of the car-park (in the pouring rain) without his roof on. That's a die-hard Exxy fan !

Hi all,

Does anyone know who got the top job as RO for the TVS region?

Cheers,

Nige

Chris, I sent an email to the secretary offering my services but had no reply, perhaps they had too many people to choose from for the position!!

Cheers,

Nige

I think the fact that you'd had to be there in person to be elected would have been an issue, otherwise the offer would've been snapped up !

I don't know the rules on filling a post "mid-term" - anyone know if someone can be elected into a position between AGM's ?

Did we not agree at the AGM to change the constitution so that the Committee could co-opt (or was that co-erce) people into vacant positions during the year pending ratification at the next EGM or AGM.

Given that you volunteered in the first place Nige, and the post is still vacant, I can't see why we would not want to utilise this new part of the constitution. Better one volunteer than 10 pressed men.

It gets my vote (if that was worth anything!)

I did explain that i could not make it to the AGM but was willing to stand for the RO. As i said, i had no reply from two e-mails. To be honest i'm a bit hacked off about it, (sorry P.C.M.)!

I am a relative newbie to the Club and an outsider to the hardened devotees but I sense that metaphorically there has been more than just Membership renewals lost in the post with many 'interim' solutions having to be used over the past months. As a result I think communication and spreading the word has suffered, including getting back to you from the sounds of it Nige. Some of the rantings/opinions expressed on this site have not always helped.

I would hope that you are not hacked off enough to withdraw your offer and the Committee agree to accept. Moreover, I hope the rest of us can support you rather than question you, especially when the going gets tough.

Oh my god, has this become a rant?

Thanks Bruce, it didn't qualify as a rant, it's nice to hear some sensible & reasoned comment! I just thought that with the current feeling within the club any offer of help would have been snapped up, clearly that's not the case & a TVS RO has been appointed, to whom i offer my full support for the coming year.

cheers,

Nige

Thats fine Paul, but i did try to do it "properly" by contacting the club secretary before the AGM! There is no way i can get up to Warickshire for an AGM or a committee meeting i'm afraid. My offer still stands but why can't things be done properly with at least a reply to my e-mail offering my services. At the end of the day all i want to do is enjoy my car with other like minded people & perhaps help this region get back on it's feet. I already feel like i'll be flogging a dead horse!

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...

Your emails have obviously been missed by the secretary...

There was no mention of your interest at the AGM and so we were cajoling Frosty to take on TVS - he refused, having done it for 10 years and then chairman, he fancied a rest!

As mentioned, we have a committee meeting in November, and I'm sure we will all be pleased to co-opt you into the position of TVS RO.

In other words, please, please, please will you be TVS RO?!

It's the area with the most members and we'd like to go back to Brooklands next year!

I'm sorry you got no response ... I shall have a word with the (now ex)secretary tonight.
Can I suggest extraction of his nasal hairs by teezers as a suitable punishment?
Maybe the tears produced will clear his vision!

Please don't give up on us fellow members...

Gomer
Chairman
