I don't think this is a bolt on option and an adaptor plate needs to be fabricated. Might be the same caliper used on the alfa 156 but you'd still need the croma 4 stud disc.
The montecarlo S2 does provide a bolt on option using the x1/9 caliper to give a 251mm rear disc, although it still uses an adaptor plate made by Lancia and they are quite hard to get hold of.
X1/9 std carrier (227mm) vs montecarlo s2 (251mm) 2 part carrier
IMO the Croma option is a better solution if you can work out the adaptor plate and get it made.

Anyone done this setup?I haven't fitted them yet as I don't want the car off the road right now, but I will be fitting 257x12 x40 high discs with Fiat Croma calipers. These are again Lucas-Girling with 38 mm pistons and have the correct handbrake lever arrangement to fit the X1/9 handbrake cables with some adapter ferrules added.

I've heard that the brakes/caliper from Alfa 33 is a straight bolt on. If it is an upgrade, I do i not know. Can anyone confirm?

Looks like the dimensions of the TWR/LUCAS calipers are the same as for the uno turbo but with a 22mm rather than 20mm disc thickness - the 33 also seems to have used a twin piston ATE caliper on some models.

does anybody know what the maximum offset for the brake disc can be?
Std are ~45.8mm can you use a 50.7 or 51.7mm offset or does this collide with other parts of the front hub assembly?
I know you can use 40.5 discs but they collide with my wheels so I'm looking for alternatives.
