Hope to be also part of your x19 family.
Here is a few photo's of my car just to introduce myself.Car is called project Mafia due to the Fiat,Mazda combination.Car is still under constuction.

Welcome Pieter and thank you for sharing your remarkable heart transplant project!
Let's not dampen your welcome here! There's no need to talk about taking sides, it's not what we're about - you will note that the term "fight" has been used twice, both times by a founder member of FiatCC. Enough said.

Thanks for the welcome Rachael
I am honoured to be part of any group that has anyting to do with X19's.My love for these cars tend to grow day by day and I cannot see the reason for fellow X19 lovers to be involved in a silly keyboard war.But as I said I am here to enjoy the companionship of all that are obsessed and in love with this wonderfull little car.Hence I am seeking membership at any group that will have me.

Thats what I love about the X19 family.Always giving compliments as if it is free......lol.Thanks guys it makes all the efforts worthwhile.
Rob I have started it some 4 weeks ago,at this moment all electics and mechanicals is working except the handbrake and driveshafts.Somehow the handbrake cables was dumped while being painted.Struggling to get something local but has got someone lined up to custom make some if need be.The sideshafts is another tricky story, running the Mazda gearbox on X19 outer cv's means building something custom. Now this brings me to a point where I decided to "modify" everything here as well.As I am thinking that it will make some decent power and that I have to make something anyway I can just as well do it properly once.I am currently looking at what outer ,stronger,cv's I can make fit. This is keeping me a little bit busy as I work most of the day and weekends just don't have enought time to do all the here's and there's.
The interior is also not finished yet and the carpets, doorcards and seats still need to be recovered. But this will be done last as I wahat to run it for a while just to get all the machanicals sorted.
Charlie,I would like to again say that I do admire that black number of yours just as much, just hope to get mine close to yours standard.
This is how the inside will basically look when finished.Opel Corsa dash fitted.

Hi Pieter,
Awesome car you have there!
I am also a newbie to the club.
I am also doing an engine / drivetrain conversion to my exxy.
I am transplanting a Mazda KFZE 2.0L V6 24V engine and transmission into a ( will be) heavily modified X1/9.
What Mazda combination have you used?
My project will be along similar lines as Nick Troths Alfa V6, ie re-mounting of all suspension components 75mm further out etc.
I own several Mazda V6s and the sound they make is gorgeous.
These engines were designed by Porshe, 160BHP, very compact, design rev limit at 8000rpm and has steel nitrided crankshaft as standard.
I will start my own topic shortly and will add pictures.
As I live in New Zealand, I will ship in parts from my homeland (UK), one will be a eurosport kit from cascu, will keep you posted.
Regards
Adam

Hi Adam
As I am also new I may just as well say "Welcome".
I am running a 2.0lt 16v motor,in short the FE version, sadly we didnt really get the v6 Mazda versions in frontwheel drive in SA.Must say the the V6 Alfa motor looks stunning in the X19 and I no that Rachael, also a member to this group is also doing the Alfa conversion.
I am mad about turbo's hence the fitting of a T61 on the Mazda motor. We will see what the power comes to once it is running.Well I have seen a lot off these motors running over the 300bhp over here.I am not going that extreme and will be happy if I can get it somewhere near 200bhp.
The car is fitted with some decent sound as well so its more of a looker than a performer.Kind of all round if you no what I mean.
Spares is a big problem therefore a lot of stuff has been made fit and donated from other cars.Their is a couple of X19 owners from Uk that has helped me out with spares and for that I am very greatfull,as a I said in some of my previous massages, the X19 families are "good" and "loving" people and I am very proud of being part of that.
Please post some pic's as you go along, will love to see the progress on your car.
Cheers
Liitle sound system for a "big" x19....lol

Good question Nick
For now just a Subaru scoop on the lid but will maybee do a ducting to the vent at the back of the car. There is a vacuum behind the car so it should help suck the air thru the cooler to that point.I not I will fit two 10" temp activated fans within the ducting to force fresh air thru.
Don't no if it will work but will soon see as soon as the car is running.
Just afraid that the airflow won't be sufficient at this point to do any real cooling

ahh,i can see the scooby scoop now, very subtle..ive a similar dilemma and set up myself, although im not at the stage of figuring it out yet, which is why i was interested in what you were going to do,cant see that scoop being adequate though, although i may be wrong

I didn't think it will do the job either Nick but we will see when it's running. As I said,I have a plan B lined up.I don't like the long pipes running from front to back. You must have some serious turbo lag wit those long pipes. It must be a good 2 meters from front to back at least x 2.Thats a lot of pipes to bring up to pressure.

I have taken the plates out at the bottom of the rear so that I can install some kind of ducting in the future.

you forget,i have functional large grill/vents in the wings that lead up to the roof,as per 308,plus functional side vents that vent to the engine bay,as per 308,no need for long turbo pipes, plenty of air for a cooler, the only problem is where to get rid of it once its been used,i was thinking along the same lines as you,..boot floor, although,i may go charge cooled yet
