thanks leo,to be perfectly honest id be lying if i said i was a big fan of fiat x19s,my interest in this car was more because of what it was than what it used to be,im just a fan of cars in general and if i wernt restoring this particular car, then id be restoring another make and model no doubt....i joined this club more from a place of gaining advice and to share what im doing with guys that do have a genuine interest....the car was featured in the x19 owners club maazine over 20 years ago under the title "the ultimate x19",and im hoping that when ive finished it it will be 100 percent better than it ever was,and its nice to read all the positive comments about what im doing.
it does suprise me sometimes though how a car club can turn mature adults into jealous children that choose the internet to vent frustrations from their hidden keyboards
but thanks again for all the positive comments and il continue to update with progress,at the moment im just finishing a couple of trick things,il post when theyre done

Sorry but I find this car a bit bizarre, like those Pontiac Fieros posing as F40s! Why??

steve, your geuss is as good as mine,i didnt build the car,ive just bought and restored it,plus added a few bits of my own touch, but to be honest,i dont see the point in purchasing genuine ferrari panels then doing all the work they did to stick them on a non ferrari floorpan either....i do know that the company that originally did the job used the car as a kind of promo vehicle to advertise their business and took it to lots of shows and excibitions, but as far as im aware no attempt was ever made to build or sell any others apart from this one, which makes it a "stand-alone" car...one thing i will say is theres two big differences between this car and a fiero,a fiero is a copy, the panels are not perfect replicas,a fiero kind of looks like a 308 but for legal reasons it cannot ever be exactly the same, this does not apply to this car as it was never produced for retail sale and because the panels are genuine with very little change to how theyde sit on a real 308,then,when this car is finished, from the outside at least it should be virtually indistinguishable, secondly, ferrari was owned by fiat and the x19 and 308 were produced at the same time,so theres lots of simularities anyway, especially underneath the skin,so to speak,so although it will never be a genuine 308,its as close as a copy could ever be........and lastly, its my car,and id rather have it than any other cars, good as some are, that ive seen posted on here or anywhere, its individual and the only one in the world, and when its finished it will be stunning, and if turning heads is a way of judging as to whether our cars are desirable or good looking, than il stick this car against just about anything that anyone can throw at me,either on here or anywhere....so you see, much as i appreciate the nice comments that are natural from nice people,i enjoy the nasty comments more, because the nasty comments come from nasty people that are sooo jealous of this car that they cannot help but to critisize.......and owning a car that has that effect on some people, just gives me a buzz!
