Thanks for sharing the photos! Your Monte does look familiar due to the distinctive numberplate - over ten years ago when I first got into X1/9s, I used to take it to an Italian specialist called Gonnella Bros in London, in the office there was a massive poster of your Monte up on the wall, and a long blurb about it beneath. I used to spend a lot of time in that office when picking up my car as you know what Italians are like, he would be on the phone yapping away for ages while I was just staring at the walls for ages waiting for him to finish... hence memorising all the posters that were up on the wall!

It's now taken care of by Autoffacina in Chessington as Peter their was factory trained on Montecarlos and he knows my little car inside out.......

Yes, Gonellas always did a sterling job on my cars, even though their workshop is a little chaotic! I did actually use them last year for the first time in years when I got them to do the clutch on my 1300 and they did the job on the same day I booked it in - fantastic! No-one in essex would touch it or if they would, they then couldnt do the job for a couple of weeks.

Autofficina - hope you're not paying Ferrari prices to go with the Ferrari looks of the Montecarlo - just as well yours looks to be in pristine condition so hopefully all they've ever needed to do is basic maintenance....! Very impressive workshop though, I had a nosey round there and saw them working on Mike Kasons X1/9 race car which was a feat of engineering.
