LOL, there are lots of inaccessible pipes on an A6 IIRC. Which is it, turbo,oil,air or coolant? Most of the widdle marks on my drive have come from German cars, the Fiat spot is dry and clean!
You just reminded me why I'm not a mechanic any more- I used to have to deal with this sort of thing day in day out, then have the customers complaining on getting a big bill for a tiny leak. Now I tell the young lads its a wonderful job, through gritted teeth- It was 20 years ago when I started, now its just grief.
I remember being very impressed by an Audi A4 2.5TDi quattro, which had done 400,000 miles, till I found out it was on its 2nd engine and I fitted the 3rd gearbox.. Triggers brush sprang to mind.
My sister in law's Peugeot 207, 3 years old and 25,000 miles, has just spat its timing belt off the pulleys. They have mentioned "fair wear and tear" :shock: :shock: :shock: Figures in the region of £4.5k have been mentioned on some forums. Replacement is 90,000 or 9 years.. Its got a FPSH too..
