Hi Guy
Welcome to the club, yes as Les has said Ive just had my box rebuilt, The Guy i used was local to me (Geartronic) cost £390 not cheap but his place was like a Lab clean and full of test equipment and he really new his stuff, I had a full stripdown all parts where cleaned measured and checked rebuild including all new bearings, i did have a spare box to use as spares although some of the gears where different, count your teeth before ordering any new gears, also make sure you use a decent oil, Tiff has sorted a club rate with Miller oils (these guys are real oil pros and supply every type of oil you could think of)
Good luck.
Mark

Thanks for that Les. Good to know that gearbox parts are still avalible. No I didnt get the dash as I was in Orkney at the time. But I have made contact with Tony Pullen and hopefully he is going to help me out with a good few bits and bobbs.
Hi Mark.
Thanks for the information. I am planning on doing the gearbox job myself, but that plan may change once I have the casing off and see how bad it is worn wise. I am hoping just to get away with 3rd gear hub and syncro.
Millers gear oil is a good tip. I also read somewhere the agricultural tractor gearoil can be used as well and its much cheaper.
I am just reinventing my garage at the moment and selling of the last of my Vauxhall stuff to make space.
Speak to everyone soon
Cheers

Taken apart both 1300 and 1500 boxes reacently so if you need any help give us a shout. They are quite easy to work on and if your really poor reversing the syncro ring can sometimes work but ideally replace the slider and syncro for this gear. The gear itself should be ok if it hadn't been crunching too long (look for rounded teeth where the gear and slider meet. Since my 1500 rebuild from 3 old boxes I have done about 3000 miles and can say that although Miller GL3 is what is specified by FIAT it's old technology. I have noticed that its temperature stability is quite poor and a cold morning the oil is quite stiff. Having said that 5mins driving and you get a very acceptable shift with it.
