Seriously, I think the struts and springs are good for this year. Maybe towards the end of the season we can have a wee chat regarding other stuff or next year another run of suspension parts. We'll follow the Haynes manual chapters lol, electrical, then heating, exhausts :P

Just a thought...100 struts..springs..why think small....Why don't we all jump in our cars, drive to Italy, make a brazier outside Turin HQ and chant and rev our engines until they give in and start producing shiny new (Galvanised, turboed) 1300's again.....People power!!!

Problem is finance now. We need a wee breather for people to be able to afford the spares they are buying in this batch. Once recovered we can start round 2. We can discuss what needs to be produced/ordered and have a date later in the year, say Christmas etc. Worth a thought don't you think? Whilst we're dealing with suspension, are there any other suspension parts that are in short supply?

The Jamex springs are still available through Topgear.

I have just bought a set for £72 + postage.

They came direct from Jamex so must still be a stock item

Definitely interested for my 1500 '83 exxy. New springs with new struts sounds like a good idea.

Not something I've done before - anything I'd need to know about fitting these or are they a straight swap?

BTW - any impact on insurance - knowing what insurance companies are like does the premium change?

Well, you can't buy the OE parts anymore, so these are the only parts to use really. You wouldn't inform your insurance company if you were changing the radiator, would you ... ?

You are better to let your insurance know, just to be on the safe side, but most will not change the premium at all.

Srings and struts will be a straight swap, just re-use the original top mounts.

Cheers Chris/Tiff.

My experience of insurance companies is that they will find any excuse they possibly can to get out of paying out. I have never come out evens when dealing with them - always lost out.

hi Tiff and Chris
Im on for a set of springs as well, would want to know the lowering limit,
Would be a shame to put new shockers on without shiny new lowering springs
Thanks

I tend to go for an inch lower which these springs are. Any lower and it gets a bit dodgy.
