Fuel filler cap

Hi. Is there a knack for removing the fuel filler cap? My 88 Bertone has what I think is the original locking one but whist it unlocks easy enough, it just won't twist off. Only managed it once and that was a fiddly frustrating fluke!

Hi Craig I’ve had this with the locking cap and it’s not great is it. I got mine of eventually and then wd40 the locking mechanism see photo attached to see the filler is actually a screw thread see also the original cap which is non locking and is what I will use when I’m back on the road the fuel rank has an anti siphon in it anyway

Hi Richard. Thanks for advice and photos. Yes, same as mine. I've previously wd40'd it and the lock works smoothly. Garage guy got it off straight away so I've filled up and now left it unlocked! I think I must have been spinning it round whilst still locked and spun it off the threads maybe? I'm sure I'll get the knack!
