The float height and drop will vary from carb to carb. Not sure how the guy in the video can measure 17.5mm by eyeballing it though! Off the top of my head the height is around 7mm and the drop 15mm (thereabouts) , measured to the top plate with the gasket in place.

The float level is 7mm +/- 0.25mm including the gasket.
