Eurosport sell a quick rack for the X19. Even though I race my X19 I'm not tempted by a quick rack, but there again I'm running very wide slicks so turning in on tight hairpins would require a lot of effort!

Yes thanks seen them brought some items from eurosport already, But I am trying to do the car on a budget, the wifes budget so looking at the cheapest way which is not always the best but we all know the score

If you are on standard tyres then a quick rack would liven up the steering without making any noticeable difference to effort needed to steer if that's what you're after. As Martin says the wider and stickier the rubber the harder the steering. I have one fitted with 195/13 semi slicks and although it works well for racing I wouldn't say it's a pleasure at parking speeds.

Hi I am running 195/15 Toyos but have installed the top mount bearing kit to try and make the steering a bit easier so I am hoping that they will balance each other out

I have the 1st Eurosport quick rack on my hillclimb car (made by Quaife). Great job !.
I run 200/530 cut slicks, yes steering is heavy at parking speeds but not that much worse than standard.
I am very tempted to fit same quick rack for my roadgoing x1/9.
Having done quite a bit research I did not find any other fiat parts bit options for a quick rack, though with enough work any thing is possible. Eurosport solution is bolt in.

You fit the rack in your own casing. Not a difficult job, but given what it does needs to be done with care. Might as well replace the steering rack bushes while your at it.

Hi
Thanks for the info I thought it was a self build, read some places easy job others that it is a right pain in the arse suppose it depends on how good you are.
I will look at getting one once I have done all I need to do to get the car back on the road, which will take a lot of time and money
cheers
Dave
