TWIN 40 CARB FITMENT QUESTION

I have fitted a pair of twin 40 DHLA 40 Dellortos onto my 78 1300. They only just seem to fit without me cutting the bulkhead between engine bay and boot, however theres no room for air filters so I presume i will have to cut a hole for that.

My question is regarding the throttle linkage, how do i make that work and what parts are needed?

Hi Matt,

Yes that's normal for side draught carbs. One of the race/hillclimb guys will chip in with advice hopefully. You will need a throttle cable kit something like one of these I would suggest:

Thankyou for the quick reply, other question was did anyone doing this twin carb conversion have to do away with engine cover catch, if so did you fit racing style pins instead?

You will have to do some cutting I'm afraid. I have removed the rear bulkhead but you might find that a bit extreme! The engine cover then has quick release pins. This is my set up that shows the cable system:
