Roof paint was created by Martin Rutter
I have just acquired an old 1300 roof as I will be hillclimbing my 89 car and the early roofs are much lighter. However the roof needs to be painted as it's a bit dull and scuffed. Can anyone recommend the best type of black paint to use on the roof? Thanks

Martin, many years ago I resprayed my 1300 targa top with a satin black spray can. Something similar to this:

It came out a treat and I would do it again if my current X1/9 needs this.
You could try good old black boot polish as well, however this depends on how bad the targa roof is currently.
Or there is Autoglym Bumper & Trim gel which I use currently
Good luck!!

I rubbed mine down to make it a bit smoother then sprayed it satin black with a top coat of clear satin lacquer. Looks great!

Thanks for the replies. If I rub it down to make the roof a bit smoother before spraying, I might even reduce the drag and get an extra 0.5 mph
