Wiring was created by Jon Griffiths
Hi,
Whilst starting to check, clean and re-install the wiring loom in my X19 1983 1500cc i found 2 sets of cables above the fuse box which have connector blocks attached to them.
I first thought they were extra speaker cabling going to the front doors but the pair of cables coiled up in the doors are not the same color??
Any ideas as what they are would be helpful, as both sets of cables are the same colors maybe the loom had been cut at some stage?
thanks,
Jon

I believe they are the oem speaker cables running to the shelf behind the headrests.
Having said that, I don't recall both speakers having the same colour wires!

Hi Rachael,
I thought the same but i checked the cables at the stereo head end and they match the cables at the Parcel shelf? To be 100% sure i will check the continuity of the speaker cabling to make sure tomorrow.
I may leave it then check when every thing is connected to see what does or doesn't work.
Are the cables in the doors for optional electric windows or courtesy lights?
thanks
Jon

Left power window should have a light blue/black and a white wire, right should have a light blue/white and a white/black wire. They should be heavy gauge.
Both door courtesy lights should have violet/white and black/violet wires, thinner gauge.

Dark blue/red (up/down signal from radio) and light blue/white (antenna motor power) is the electric antenna.
Just looking for the other pair in the diagrams now.

Yes just checked and found a pair tucked into the loom where it passes the Aerial the same color, I think they must have put an Aerial on the front wing at some stage and cut into the loom by the fuse box??
Thanks for all the help, its getting there slowly!
