This is the fusebox I intend to use. It is common to several Fiat models of the 80s and 90s. it will be tucked up under the left hand end of the dash...

I have hinged the fusebox mounting to make tinkering easier. Wiring up is progressing gently...

The three micro relays and the "99" relay operate the wipers, this is identical to how one can add relays to upgrade the X1/9 wiper wiring. I now have wipers that operate at a reasonable speed, a programmable wiper delay and 3 wipes after operating the windscreen washer.

This handy power distribution fusebox provides an efficient way to supply the main fusebox. Again this can be done to the X1/9, this is a better alternative to the "brown wire mod" as it adds some fuse protection to the main fusebox feed.

In between the Rugby World Cup and an internet try-hard's efforts to insult me, I finally got the dashboard and gauges back in the car after replacing the disintegrated dash frame.

I have placed a wiring diagram for the wiper relay mod, which is a useful mod for X1/9s, in the "Tuning and Mods" forum section. I realise that is a section for paying members only, so I'm happy to assist via PMs if anyone wants to try this mod themselves.

If anyone wishes to prolong the life of their expensive and difficult to replace column switches, I have wiring diagrams for my programmable wiper mod, or a diagram for the much simpler "plug and play" wiper mod. I also have a diagram for fitting a dipped beam relay using the original headlight fuses.

Please PM me for details.

Cheers R

Today I tackled the electric window wiring. A previous owner had cut the wires into the door jamb a bit short, so it was a struggle to fit the relays! I will take some pics tomorrow.

Again this is an improvement that can be made to the X1/9 wiring to preserve those hard to get switches. If anyone wants a wiring diagram, PM me.
