Insulation between boot and engine compartment
12 years 4 months ago #31997

Insulation between boot and engine compartment was created by Mickey
I recently removed the access panel in the boot so I could repaint that boot area. The foam insulation was in bad shape, and I'd like to replace it... but with what? I want something that does not trap moisture.
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks,
Mickey

if its for the insulation panel under the boot floor protecting the boot area from the exhaust Rockwool, you can get it at many merchants.

Hi Mark,
No I mean the stuff that is sliver foil backed that hides behind the rectangular access panel in the boot (the thin firewall between boot and engine compartment). The rockwool type stuff just absorbs and traps moisture, causing rust. I wanna use something more durable and water proof.
The stuff which lurks behind one of these (excuse the USA version!) images.marketplaceadvisor.channeladvisor...ess.panel.orange.jpg
Regards,
Mickey
