Time to fix my turbo engine

Well after getting to Brooklands this year and Shelsley with a bodged up block of JB Weld and block sealer, I finally got the time to take the lump out last week. Charlie has supplied me with another block as this one is leaking. I'm also anticipating a headgasket fault or more likely a cracked head - when the block sealer did it's thing compressed air and coolant was being pumped out of the expansion tank overflow pipe.

First job was to get the car outside and pressure wash out all of the coolant.

Engine out on the floor

Manifolds etc all off ready for strip down

Here you can see where the pressure from the coolant on boost has even blown through the JB weld I applied. To be fair the weld putty did a good job, it was leaking from idle before without it .

Next step is the strip, inspection and to take the head for a pressure test!
