I'm new to the club and hoping I can find some leads to a project / runner 1500. I want to use it for historic road rallying but will be keeping it original. It needs to be 1985 or earlier build. I have been scanning the web recently and there seem to be either shells that are too far gone or full restorations which command huge prices. I owned a lovely red one almost identical to this one -
Ebay 1980 1500
. I so wish I had kept it.....
Any pointers welcome and it would be good to meet anyone in the NW ( I am in Cumbria)

Hi Bryce,
Welcome to the club. Where are you located?
We do hear of cars coming up for sale, so worth keeping your eye on this site.
Cheers

Hi Andy,
Thank you for the welcome. I'm up near Kendal on the north side of Morecambe bay. very picturesque but wet right now !
If I find a "project" car, what are basically "no-go" items which make the car irreparable? I remember on my old X1/9 thinking that rust in the bottom of the headlight access holes would be ... interesting ... to fix.
All the best
Bryce
