There's a story behind this car.
I'll try and keep it brief.
This car was advertised 18 months ago.
It was in a lock up in France with no MOT.
I agreed a price of £5000 with the lady who was selling it providing it had an MOT.
She agreed to bring it to the UK on here next visit when I would have it collected and delivered to me.
But she kept putting the trip off but assured me that as soon as it arrived on these shores she would be in touch.
The next thing I see is that it is n the UK and being sold by her "nephew" for £8K.
I contacted him telling him about the agreement I had with his auntie.
Tough he said.
So in principal I'm refusing to pay £3000 more than was agreed!
This is the third time it's been on EBay now but still no takers so maybe it's not as good as it looks.
It's the only one I have seen with the original blue roof and looks very tidy in my view.
Not huge mileage, interior looks very nice, i love the tan seat with blue paint, tiny bit of brown on the nose cone drain channel. MOT records show one mention of corrosion on rear suspension mounting area but nothing on any of the recent mot's...
I think you'll be paying a lot more for someone's completed restoration project to get any better.
As far as I can see, this car is well worth the money. You will struggle to find an original VS any better for that price. The advert says it's worth £12K and I think that it high time these cars started fetching that sort of money. They've been too cheap for too long. Good ones deserve a good price and I reckon this is a good one.
I'll certainly be looking for that sort of money or more when I part with mine.

I agreed on a price with the owner but now the nephew wants £3000 more.
Out of principal I'm not prepared to give him the extra money.
I'm not sure where he gets the £12k from.
It's also interesting that it hasn't been MOTd until this year since at least 2006 according to the history.
Too bloody right. Stick to your guns. An agreement is an agreement. Have you spoken to the lady about the price hike. After all it's hers not her nephews?

Okay I did email the lady but she never replied.
I missed out on two lovely looking VS' recently, one sold for just over £2k and the other and £3k but both were 300 mile from me so I didn't get to see them, plus I'm not really keen on auctions unless the car is close by.
