Obviously had a respray at one time, lots of rust in the usual places, door bottom, windscreen surround, anywhere else? When you say "poorly" what do you mean? Mileage?
There are two cars similar to yours on Car and Classic’s web site, a black ‘Lido’ and green one that’s been modified with a larger engine. They’re both described as projects and the sellers are each asking £3,500 although they’ve have both been for sale for quite awhile and the Lido was originally £2,500. 1300’s are quite rare now and don’t often come up for sale. I think your car is far more desirable than the other two and has potential assuming it doesn’t have too much rust. I sold my previous car, a 1978 1300 as a project in running condition two and a half years a go for £1,000 but I think prices are increasing. I’d try a free ad’ on Car and Classic pitched below the other two and see how it goes.
If I had that car I would personally advertise it for around £1500 because anyone who is going too take that on will have X1/9 eyes ie. Checking out all the expensive and troublesome bits are not rusty because being an unused 1300 there is a 90% chance that could be the case. Also that lido is a heap for £3500 that is why it is not sold and that green one is another story for another day, believe me.
