SOLD: Bertone X1/9 87' currently SORN.

Hi,

My beloved X1/9 has to go and needs a new home without suffering "Fleabay" and I appreciate that club members know what they're looking for and what to watch out for.

It's tidy and solid and would remain with me except for the impending loss of dry storage.

A good solid example, in Mica Red with about <70K on the clock, running 'til about 08', house move dictated SORN, put into garage, transported to new house, garaged. Priorities changed (toddler) & I don't see it rolling again in next few years, I'd rather someone enjoyed it.

All things are 'relative' or 'subjective' but I see this as a recommission job (engine check, fluids check/replacement, brakes may need freeing/overhaul, will need new tyres as its sat a while). The body is solid in & out and I reckon it could be MOT-able again within a month even if a new engine was required as it was serviced a year before it was SORN'd.

I can't guarantee engine as release cables snapped (rear boot & engine cover) after it went into store with carb cover off after fitting stainless MK1 coolant bottle / manual choke.

Tyres hold air and plenty tread but should be replaced - the centre console needs refitting (removed to refit choke cable) - a newer interior was fitted (door cards/seats in burgundy/grey) replacing the rainbow coloured alcantara/suede-y ones.

If you want to take a look, I'll try to get some photo's & try to get a camera/endoscope thing in to find the releases for boor/engine cover.

This car did the Callander Classic back in 2005 (corrected the date after finding the T-shirt) & was on the club pitch at Stanford Hall 2005/2006 so may still be in a club mag (* 858 ***)

If you want to offer it a new home and can access a roadworthy trailer I can consider towing at cost of fuel - subject to reasonable distance of course.

2/4/16: It's been a long break after a number of no-shows from a number of assorted 'sites', so I'd like to find a home asap.
