I was tempted but its a bit rough, the bumpers are rusty, the seats door cards and the dash are very good. But needs a lot of work lots of rot but not to much if you have a big cheque book

I promised myself these little cars were in my past, but that one needs to come over the Forth if it's saveable. How bad is it Michael? I'll weld all day but not in a position right now to take on a full resto.

Full restoration, lots of welding the owner even asked how easy a re shell would be, does that answer your question

The bug has never really left, just surpressed for a bit. My mum died on Tuesday so we have all been looking at old photo's and stuff. So many photo's have me and my mum when I was a kid, clutching my Corgi X1/9. Later photo's have an X1/9 in the background, there's even a photo of me going to nursery with the Lido in the background that started it all, old school jotters with badly drawn X1/9's..they've been a big part of my life for 35 years..and I wanted a very early blue 1300 for as long as I can remember. Now one pops up just down the road. Looking at the photo's I reckon I could take a holiday have it on the road in a week.It needs to be saved.

Sorry to hear the sad news about your mum....

1300's are starting to become desirable for me now. I always wanted the 1500 because it was faster but even with modifying a 1500 to 1300 looks you still don't get that 1300 interior look...

I think my next project might well be a 1300!

1983 1500 (currently restoring it)
1989 1500 GF - on the road
2003 Mazda RX8 - modern version of the X1/9

Aspires to a Lancia MonteCarlo (code number by Fiat and Lancia X1/8 then X1/20)

Hi

I have bought the blue 1300 in Scotland. (unseen  )

Second car I ever owned was a 1300 when I was 17, twenty seven years ago, I also got my first speeding ticket in it! This car is its twin,(blue,1300) been looking for a long time.

Friend owns a bodyshop, hopefully its not beyond saving,he is a demon welder, alledgedly. I will do the mechanicals myself.

Look forward to popping in from time to time, and hopefully my ludicrous questions wont annoy too much.

Matt

He will need to be a really good welder, and you will need deep pockets too I would try to buy a second shell to act as a doner.

Ps I have a really good windscreen surround if you want it
