1987 X1/9 VS 1500cc

Sadly I can no longer find the time to complete my X1/9, it's been a rolling restoration for several years now. So I have now faced up to the fact that I will never finish it and am going to let the car go.

Hence, it is for sale...

The car is sound, but no oil painting.
It is mostly complete and I may even get it to run before the sale.
It had a blown head gasket (between cylinders 3 and 4) a couple of years ago and I had the head skimmed, it has taken me all this time to rebuild it, now all it needs is restarting and a check over before an MOT. It is currently SORN (expires 31/12/12). The last MOT ran out in July 2009 and tax at the end of that year.

Manufactured 1987, first registered June 1988. Beige over Black, 69K miles, 7 Owners

I have a few spares to go with it, Instrument panel (minus clock), boot lid (not very good, but mostly solid), Carburettor, and a handful of small bits. There is also a slightly battered Haynes manual, Club Technical Manual and most of the little owners manual that came with the car new.

It has been stored in my garage throughout.

£475.00

Come and see the car, any viewings welcome.

That looks like a very nice solid car.. Best of luck with the sale.

Are you concentrating on the other toy in the garage?

To be honest, the photos are a little flattering.

It is a good solid car, however it will need the bonnet, boot and targa bar spraying.

Mechaically it will need the engine recommissioning as it has not started since the head went back on. It has been standing for a while so the brakes will probably need doing also.

Old Datsun!

Whilst I would not say no to one of theearly Z-Cars, the classic in question was a FIAT 124 Coupe (CC Model 1800cc TwinC)

"Nick in Blackburn" reminds me of my other half's escapades in his younger days; one Friday evening he was walking into Blackburn from Rishton for an evening's socialising, when a private hire taxi pulled up alongside and the driver asked if he wanted a ride into town. Steve thought it was a bit irregular but accepted the offer. The taxi driver seemed very young, as did the lady sat in the front passenger seat. After a somewhat erratic drive into Blackburn the driver pulled up outside the Fleece as requested. Steve got out and said "thanks mate, how much do I owe you?" to which the driver replied "it's ok mate, it's nicked!"

I've washed the car this afternoon and taken some detailed photos of the worst areas, rather than jam up the site here I am happy to E-Mail photos to any who PM me with an E-Mail address.
