X1/9 Lido for sale on ebay, any one know the car or owner?

Some one from Germany contacted me through the US X site, xwebforum
enquiring about the Lido for sale on ebay.
Does any one know the car or the owner?

I had a look at it last weekend..

Its solid, hardly any rust, has had loads of work done to it...

I was put off by the front, it had been in a head on and the front is from a 1500.. a good job has been done but its not quite right...

The bloke is genuine.. has been in his family for years...

No idea about electrics as he didn't have a battery in it.......

Obviously the same goes for the engine.. but my concern was for the gearbox..

For me there was too much that could be wrong to justify that kind of money.. Mind you, I have been very spoilt with finding projects..

I will keep looking for a RHD 1300...

Very interesting car - my first X was a 1500 registered EUT 404T.
Must have been same dealer ...... Wonder what the crossover was between 1300's and 1500's

Since this thread was started I've found out that this Lido was owned by my boss ! He considered buying it again when I told him it was on ebay, but didn't in the end.

In his ownership the car had a front end accident and then a rear end accident (probbaly best he didn't buy it back, to be honest !) and had a lot of new panels as a result (around the early- to mid-nineties).

As far as I know the car is currently in a shipping container on its way to Thailand.

Yes Chris - Amazed to find out tonight : here ... this Lido has arrived in Thailand!!
