A sad post really
My X1/9 had not been used for many years and I suddenly got keen again and started to look at getting it running again.
Unfortunately there is corrosion internally and I don't have the time or the skill to repair it properly. I also don't have the money to pay someone else to do it.
Externally the car is pretty good but for some unknown reason the right rear corner particularly has corroded internally.
The car is a non-runner. The engine is not seized and I suspect the carburrettor needs an overhaul / clean.
I have loads of photographs of the corrosion so that anyone can make an assessment on whether to come and have a look or not.
The car is near Market Drayton in Shropshire. I really hope someone will rebuild her. Any offer considered.
I have tonnes of brand new and used spares and I will advertise them separately shortly in the spares section. These include:
1756cc twincam engine
2 DCNF40 carburrettors and Alquati manifold
Stainless steel cooling system
Custom made baffled sump
Gearbox adaptor plates
Machined flywheel to fit X1/9 box
5 speed X1/9 gearbox
Front to rear Stainless steel coolant pipes
6 brand new discs
1 set goodridge hoses unopened
1 complete set Ferodo racing pads FCP29H
4 distributor caps
2 brand new suspension bushes
2 brand new front calipers
1 brand new ignition barrel plus two keys
Complete set of brake seals
1 Weber 34 carburettor overhaul kit unopened
Various repair panels
Recored radiator with twin fans (suitable for twincam or other conversion)
X1/9 single bike rack (designed by me)
Twincam package:
All spares together:

Hi Tom,
sorry to hear about your car.
I'm guessing that you've lived in this area for a number of years.
I do remember joining an x1/9 convoy for a meeting at Mr. Marson's house many many years ago - I'm sure someone from your household came along too - some young nephew who lived in Whitmore Road!)
I live in Ashley and my current x1/9 is being made roadworthy very slowly. Not sure I need anything - except maybe some cromodora centre caps (or are my eyes deceiving me?)
Best Regards
Vince

Hi Tom, would you be selling off the bumpers. I would like to improve mine front more so. I do need the escutcheons though around the side lights in good condition.
Regards Geoff.
