This pic was snapped and sent to me yesterday by a friend who lives in Budapest. Apparently the happy couple are on their way to a wedding (ribbons, glitter, etc). Who needs the Roller?
OK so anyone can mount a set of SE/Gran Finale alloy wheels and spoiler, but does the chrome trim and nose design make it a Lido, or what? Or are mainland European models different? (Maybe I should rephrase that...)
Two for one... also spotted Wednesday evening, 31 August at 7:30 pm, a red Exxie nipping across the Broomhouse roundabout in the Sighthill district of Edinburgh, intersection of A71 and B701.
Ewen: thanks for the pics including the awesome spectacle of 20(?!) X1/9's in line astern, traversing the beautiful Scottish Heather....mmmm.

Richard, did the red X1/9 in Edinburgh have side skirts on it,and about an '88? -black side strips and pepperpot wheels??
The one in the pic looks like an early 1500,it has the raised engine cover and early 1500's had stainless trim round the windows.Lido's all had white seats, and chrome bumpers-these were the only X's that had these 2 items.
Hi Tiff, I think it was a straight X1/9 with no modifications, but it may have had a black side-stripe. It zipped by so quick going in the opposite direction to me I couldn't take in all the details.
Thanks for the key pointers to Budapest Bertie's true identity!
