Well this evening my heart got the better of my head. I went out to see an exxy that had been for sale in Stirling for a couple of weeks on autotrader, and I have bought it - I hope to be collecting it sometime this coming week.
It looks a very honest and solid car (1980, 1500, 39K miles) and according to emails and documentation was owned for the majority (20+years) by Simon and Julia Thyer in Devon, whom it seems were in the owners club. There are a few minor niggles, which I'll stay on top of, and having a garage will mean it won't go the way of my last (I promise).
Looking forward to having an enjoyable rest of the summer.

Cheers guys. Its not perfect, but just the right condition for me to get out there and use it. It even comes with the pair of X1/9 bags
. I am feeling very strange - excitement one moment, apprehension the next. It's like waiting for the birth of a baby (I guess  ). I should get it tomorrow or Wednesday.
I won't be able to make the Highland Fling this coming weekend, as I've already got something on. As for wales - the last time I managed to persuade my wife to holiday there, my Lancia's head gasket blew on the way back up the M6 (). Maybe ..... we do need a holiday.
