Two X1/9's !!!! And I left mine at home.
One very sharp VS which was there last year and a very very low red one with square spots. Unfornately neither took a spin up hill.

The red one was mine!

I spoke to the owner of the VS, said he bought it new 20 years ago. It was in immaculate condition, so much so it was entered in the concours. For me it was just let down by not having the original wheels.

I did go up the hill a few times. Will post post some photos thisevening.

The very special VS. An X1/9 mixing it with the big boys.

Me on the start line. Took Mrs SimonH up as well, she said it made her feel a little sick and gave her the shakes. I said the shakes are the effect you look for and mean you enjoyed it.

Three X1/9's next year Johnny?

I'll be there without a doubt next year. What was your best time? I was doing 1 minute 5s on my stopwatch.
This year we were trying a merc 300sl 3 litre auto. Boy! was that scary and it was only doing 1.19!!

I've done the drivers school there and been up in the the back of the beat up school cavalier with a two or three times british campion driving. Now that was interesting. A small good handling car is definately the thing for a hill climb.

I didn't time myself on Sunday but my best time in that car is 60.68. That was at the end of a season of sprints and hill climbs a couple of years ago.

I'll be there again next year for sure.

To get a time like that you must be staying out on the last corner. You've got nerves of steel!!! I couldn't even do that at poddle mode in the Merc.

As for your none standard wheels, I think they're cool. They fill the arches nicely.
