A warm and very sunny day for Knockagh Hillclimb Co Antrim.
Closed public road on outskirts of Belfast.
Last championship hill for 2016 in ANICC series
Car went faster later in the day but this run was not too bad.
1st in class on the day, giving me 2nd overall in the Class 6A championship for the year.
Roll on 2017.

Oh, boy. LOVE the video, and well done in the competition.
I've "lurked" here on and off for years. Spent 10 years growing up with 128's (ie an X1/9 with the engine in the front...) - was introduced to them at 7 years old. Then "inherited" my Mom's 5 year old one, and ran it for a further 8 years, as my 1st car. Fell in love. Learned how to change a head gasket in two hours, blindfolded. Have hankered after an X1/9 since the 1980's. Might even get one, someday...
I couldn't believe my eyes when the Haynes manual said the 1100/1300 engine was designed for 9000rpm. And the engineer in me had to find out. Yes, it was true. I'm not sure I'd try that in a stock X1/9 1500 (which is a "long stroke" 1100, whereas the 1300 is a bored-out 1100)
BUT...
THIS VIDEO is the closest thing I've heard in 23 years, to matching that tortured scream. Goosebumps. Chills. I think I'm coming down with an X1/9 virus all over again.
It persuaded me to register an account for the forum, to write this post...
The rev counter runs out of room, btw! :woohoo: Does it max out at 8k? I can't quite read the numbers, but presume it's idling around the 1k mark.
I'd love to know, what "mods" this has. What engine, for example.
Excuse me, while I wipe the drool...

You need some more numbers on your rev counter, but then I suppose at the moment you can't over rev the engine
