X19 with 19K miles

Hi,
My mum has an X19 Bertone 1500cc with just 19,000 miles on the clock. The car is totally factory original and in mint condition. She lives abroad so the car apparently has zero rust as its spent most of its life in warmer climes and is still on its factory tyres. Its red and has a spare roof. This car hasn't been messed with at all and starts/runs perfectly. The car came from the UK so its right hand drive still on UK plates. Its kept under cover in a garage. I know this is a hard question not seeing the car but would you folks have any idea of a ball-park value for this car?
She has a guy coming to look at it and I don't want her to get ripped off.
Cheers,
Ciaran

The top price that I have seen a 1500 X19 is £19k, I think it went to a museum. However, I would think 12k if the car is absolutely perfect would be a possibility to a collector. To an enthusiast who wants to actually use it, they would have to spend money on it to replace all rubber, etc to recommission it and probably 7 to 10k is more realistic. See what other people think.

Hi Martin,
Thanks a million for the reply. She mentioned 2k was being offered, it just didn't seem right to me for a car nearly 30 years old in perfect condition. The car lives in Spain, what would you reckon the best way of finding a buyer to get it to an enthusiast opposed to a guy whose just going to re-sell it (and make most of the profit). My mums in her 70's, still has her wits about her but wouldn't be much of a wheeler-dealer if you know what I mean.
Cheers,
Ciaran

2k is ridiculously low and should not be accepted. If If this site doesn't generate some interest, you could try advertising on a classic car site that covers all of europe. I'd buy it myself for 2k but your mum should get a fair price and not be ripped off.

Thanks Lads for the advice. I just had a feeling it was worth a bit more than 2k. I've had a chat with her and asked her for a few photos. Computers are not her thing so I might be waiting!!
The real market for this car is bringing to the UK/Ireland for sale, I think it costs about 2k to register a uk car for spanish road use but also costs about 1k to have the motor shipped from spain. Either way it puts potential buyers off if you know what I mean. I'd love the car myself but don't have a garage so it would be destroyed by the weather. It'd probably die of shock when hit by rain after its papered life in spanish weather

I've imported a few cars into the Uk (not X1/9s but yanks and some VWs from mainland Europe).
Actually importing the car is reasonable straightforward, MoT test, change of headlights etc, couple of forms to complete.
Physically getting the car from Spain to the UK is harder but not the end of the world either; if it's as good as you say (and I have no reason the think otherwise) it will attract serious buyers and they will be prepared to travel. I have trailered a car from Berlin to Bristol in the past, it wasn't the most fun I've ever had but it's certainly do-able. Factor that cost into the sale price and work with the serious buyers from there.

By the way, I'll outbid Martins 2k and offer 2100 cash.... ;)
