Evening all. I haven't been on the forum much but as a brief introduction I bought my x1/9 Gran Finale in June last year. It was a chance purchase as I wasn't really looking for one. I spotted it for sale locally, checked it out, took it for a test drive and was hooked. So I bought it. Since then I've been doing bits and pieces to it. To date I've had the passenger wing resprayed (laquer had peeled), had the door bottoms replaced and rust cut out of the passenger sill. Mines had the original seats swapped for black leather ones which were split in a few places. So I've had them fixed and recoloured. One niggle I had after the wing respray was the pin stripes on the rest of the car. They were old and worn so I took them off, which took an age. Annoyingly they've left ghost marks which will take a bit of work to remove. But overall its a good x1/9 that I can keep improving as I go along. I love driving it and it puts a smile on my face every time I do. And the sound when the carb opens up when pushed past 4,000 rpm

Jobs to do still include getting more rust cut out, found some hiding behind the front bumper, wheels need a refurb, boot spoiler needs fixing/replacing, smaller steering wheel needs fitting (waiting on the boss kit to arrive) plus a few other bits and pieces.
Anyway I took part in the London to Brighton Classic Car Run on Sunday. It was my first ever run and a first with my x1/9. The weather was not great on the day but the route was good and we had four x1/9s take part which was good. We all made it in one piece, though one of my headlights got stuck on route so have another thing to fix. I've done a review of the run on a classic car web site I run. Here's the link:

I shot some video of the run as well so hope to make a little film and release it next week.
