Lido was created by Keith Waterhouse
Hello All,

This isn’t really a ‘spotting’ but I’ve just seen this on Car and Classic’s web site for a Lido www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C599536
There’s currently a UK ad’ on the same site for a Ferrari Mondial for less.

Regards

Keith

that lido's bumpers are 'sprayed' silver not chromed...lido decal is on the wrong side of the boot lid, no x1/9 decals on the pillars, two different seatbelts, the paint work looks non mettalic,no lido number plaque, non carello spotlights....£15000 restoration? obviously they didnt do their homework...maybe its a x1/9 Lido imposter :)

I wonder if they got the decimal place wrong In the restoration price?
More like £150 is nearer the mark....

I think they will have it on there hands for a while at that price even if it was totally original.

Good spot on the decal and bumpers there Pete :)

I cannot get my head past the sprayed bumpers. Whoever restored this car must be laughing all the way to the bank.

For some reason I recognise the numberplate. Has the car been advertised somewhere else before?

About a year ago I agreed a price on a lido that had BAR/T number plate on ebay,I paid deposit and transport arranged but the sale fell through because sellers wife told him not to sell. This must be the car and the price agreed from memory was about £2100 and I was assured at the time that this car was in excellent condition, it just needed tidying up.

Just shows how the unwary can be fooled by some nice pictures and economical description. May well be a good car but not worth that sort of money.

Why do folk still leave that ghastly interior in a Lido after a so called restoration?. Its the best looking X19 in my eyes until you open the door

i disagree with your ghastly comment when i had my Lido i bought brand new unwrapped seats from julian at xtra x1/9s and when they are new they are stunning but of course keeping them looking new is hard hence i kept plastic covers on plus very thick normal seat covers over the them and only uncovered them at shows trust me when the sun hit that interior it was blinding a real standout but i do agree the Lido is visually the best looking x1/9 that came out of the bertone factory

Each to their own of course, but I don't see the point in having seats you have to use two sets of seat covers on just to keep them looking good for the next owner. Personally I think if the owner had spent some of his 15k on redoing the interior in nice hide, it would of made a big improvement in this car, and painting them lovely bumpers silver is just a joke I think.

Miles Thacker got mine done for a mere £200, and they are like brand new. A small price to pay for something so important on a Lido.
