Hi there that would be my Bertone x1/9 you spotted. The sound is down to the custom tubular exhaust manifold and single sport silencer.
Haven't fitted the twin Weber 40s yet but they will be coming shortly.

Nice, have you had it long? I'm in Canford heath, Poole and work in ringwood. Are you local?
Look out for my blue 85 vs. which I'm trying to use as my daily. It's just back on the road after an engine and gearbox swap. Bought mine in November and clutch had had it by may.

No not had it long about 2 months have to say I'm very happy with it.
Needs a bit of work here and there but other than that its been perfect really fun to drive and with the sound it turns some heads.

I live in Poole so just down the road from you.

Just picked up some different wheels to put on it, to give it a bit of a wider stances.
Going 13" 6j on the front
And 13" 8j rear.
That's if I can make them fit.

Nice wheels but the rears won't fit without extending the wheel arches ..you find these on a lot of eurosport bodykitted x1/9s

I must admit i wasnt 100% sure if they would work out or not.
But i do want the wheels to stick out the arches a bit just to give it a more aggresive stance.
Have seen a few x1/9 with 8" rear wheels on without the wide arch kits on.
Will see when the wheels turn up.

Something like this but maybe not sticking out quite as far as it would attract to much of the wrong kind of attention if you know what i mean.

Daniel it would be good to see some pics when you have fitted them, the rears have a nice deep dish on them, wider than most wheels available for the x1/9

Its a tough one really guess the only way to really know for sure what it looks like is when the wheels turn up and i offer them up.
Will post pics either way so you guys can see. If they dont fit i ll simply relist them ebay.

If they do fit then i will be changing the colour of them as blue and red is just not an option.

Hi just put these 13x6's on today with normal 165/70 tyres and even with this combo the front tyre misses the wheel arch by a gnats cock on turning. I used 16mm hubcentric spacers on the front 19mm on the back, the back wheels would easily take bigger wheels as mentioned in previous posts but it is the fronts that are a real pain because of the arch and suspension arm. The difficult thing about x1/9's is getting wheels that look right and then muddling around to get the spacers, spigots, bolts and tyre sizes so that they will then actually fit.
