Met up with a guy called Chris Powell at the Buxton Pavilion car show yesterday after the Peaks and Dales run. He was a real enthusiast and had restored a blue 1300 WGS 13S - took him years and bitterly regretted selling it. He just wanted to know if it is still alive and kicking. I said I would ask in the club. From DVLA, it appears to have been taxed in Feb.
Anyone know of the car?
Cheers

I owned the car around 1999, having bought it from Chris. It had many new parts and panels, but it had been stood a long time after he rebuilt it. Some of the panels didn't fit amazingly, but it was pretty solid and very presentable, and I paid £1600 for it!
I serviced it, fitted a brand new 1300 carpet, CD30 alloys, waxoyled it and drove it for all of that amazing summer, leaving my poor Gran Finale sat in the drive. I drove it to Whitby, but 7 miles before we got there, the clutch disintegrated and I had to be towed home. (£200!).
A year or so later, I sold it to a good friend who ran it daily, but he had loads of minor problems with it. I am hazy on the rest. I either bought it back and later sold it to a guy called Damien Moss from Halifax, or my mate sold it to Damien. We all knew each other via Steve at Alternative Autos.
Last I heard (two weeks ago) is that Damien still has it, but it's been stood for many years and I think it might be beyond reasonable restoration now. I think he is considering fitting all the 1300 trim to his Gran Finale and having the best of both worlds.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Mickey
