Lido Engine was created by Grimy
Removed the engine from my Lido wreck today. The cylinder head was off so I could study the bores. I got the pistons moving with no difficulty (not seized after all). Now the question. I thought that all 1300 X1/9 engines were stamped 128 but this one was stamped 138.1. I measured the displacement and it was about 56mm. Could this be the original engine or a replacement from a Strada etc???

Thanks Lewis. This car is really trashed. Take a look at the interior.

You'd be surprised, the steering wheel with the correct 1300 horn button is worth a few quid, and even the remains of the alacantara trim will be sellable. Do send me a pic of the dash if it came out in one piece and doesn't have any holes in it I definitely would like to buy it off you!

Cheers,
Jim.

Half solved the engine I.D. problem it says 138.1 on the block where the core plugs are but on the face next to the thermostat is the serial number 128..... so I guess it is the original engine :?:
