Colour codes help needed was created by WEBREB
Hi
I have owned my X1/9 for five months and at Christmas I decided to smarten it up a bit for the summer, this has now turned into a "Why not rip the interior out and give it a respray!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The car has had some considerable work done to it in the past with new rear panels, new front wings door skins etc and a not so good respray at some time.
It was painted with the orange code 190 as it says on this site however i have almost completed the rub down and am just doing the fiddley bits in the engine bay only to find the original colour of metalic orange under the new paint so i presume it must be a Series Special.
Can anyone please tell me the paint code for this I would love to get it back to as near original as I can!
Thanks

You will probably find that 190 is correct, but the colour you get depends
on the person mixing it. That's what I have forund in the past, I ended up in Halfrauds, very good service but more important an exact match!!

Thanks Francis I will try them for a sample but the at the paint mixers (a well respected auto factor's in Belfast ) told me that the code 190 wasn't even a metalic colour and the sample I got from them although the same colour as the car is now is totally different from the metallic orange in the engine bay

If it's of any help, paints4u.co.uk were great in matching the Mica Red of my GF. As Tiff has pointed out many times it is a Volvo colour & luckily still available. Good luck!

Sounds like they may have given you 190A rather than 190.
190 is Arancio Met, used from 1976 to 1980,
190A is Rosso Corallo used from 1993 to 1995.
category : Passenger car car maker : FIAT / LANCIA
code : 190 BERTONE color : ARANCIO-MET. 1976 1980 56391
category : Passenger car car maker : FIAT / LANCIA
code : 190A color : ROSSO CORALLO (2C) 1993 1995 73630
REMEMBER, when getting paint for a later,Bertone badged X1/9, use the BERTONE colour charts, rather than the Fiat ones. If you look at the Bertone charts,Mica red and blue ARE listed.

I bought my stock of paint for the 1300 from Autopaint International
www.autopaintinternational.com/
last year. It says on the tin Code: 190, Arancio Met, Ref: 18664. They were much cheaper than
Paints4u at the time.

Paints4U have not been able to match my request for Mica Red despite furnishing them with all of the paint codes - any suggestions?

Here's a posting I put in the old feedback forum.I've had a few batches made up using these codes.
Posted by Tiff from fife, Scotland on Sat, 5 Apr 2003 09:47:46 BST:
Mica paint codes
I've been down to the paint suppliers, and got him to match up the Mica codes. They are listed as Bertone colours.1989 onwards.Rosso Mica is 408,Blue Mica is 407. If you take these codes to a paint mixer upper,he should get the colour,as these numbers are for any paint manufacturers mixing scheme.Remember they are not listed under Fiat, and somehow the Fiat code does not cross-refer
If all else fails try Volvo colour code card, same codes, from 1987-1990. Volvo 780's were built in the Bertone factory and also used the same colours and colour codes....
