Back to exxy ownership

The last exxy I owned was arround twenty years ago, a 79 silver 1500.
Since then I have owned numerous Fiats (130TC, 105TC, Uno turbo, Tipo 16v) and many company cars.
Having now joined this forum and having read new and old threads I think I am ready to take the plunge. (Don't tell the wife!)
I would be grateful for any relevant purchasing advice
I will hopefully be back in the land of Exxy as soon as I have located a suitable example.
I'm not looking for anything too immaculate but maybe something a little different!
Cheers for now

Welcome to the club & forum. You've made a wise choice
The best advice I can offer is to take another club member with you when you go and view any potential car - 2 sets of eyes are always better than one.
Plenty of people on here from around the country that will be willing to help out - you just have to ask.
Best of luck and keep us posted.
Chris

Tiff wrote an e-bay guide to buying x1/9s. It is obviously relevant to buying non e-bay cars as well. No idea how to find it though. Anybody know?

I will be following your links and advice!
Many thanks for your warm welcome, it certainly proves that I have made the right decision in pursuing another exxy.
P.S. The misses is a car nut as well, she just doesn't like me spending money on cars when there is more pressing items (kitchen re-fit, decorating etc) not to worry though I'll hopefully adjust her priorities!

My wife was the same; then I bought the X1/9 (without here knowing), just turned up and took her for a drive. She's now a convert and couldn't wait to drive it herself  .
We now use the car so we enjoy the drive to my son's house to do the kitchen refit and decorating
Good luck with the purchase and enjoy!!

1985 b reg VS Silver (same colour as my old one from 20yrs ago)
OK condition, plenty of potential as they say!
58,000 miles, Twin Weber 40's, Piper cam, some kind of performance manifold and exhaust.
Taxed and MOT'd
Driven back from Brighton (160 miles) without missing a beat!
looking forward to light nights so I can spend some time on doing it up!
Mrs thinks I'm having mid life crisis but how do you know when midlife is until you snuff it.

Even the missis has taken a shine to it. (got to do the kitchen as well though)
Really enjoying driving it and spending spare time tinkering!
Role on summer for some good driving weather
