Hello All,

After liking the X1/9 since my teens, a moment of mid life crisis lead me to the purchase of a 83 standard 1.5 (the car was previously a X1/9 Owners Club Member - reg PGH 674Y). The first year of ownership was spent enjoying roof off motoring around the Wicklow mountains without any problems over approx. 2000 miles. This year due to the levels of rust on the car (I could take of the roof and see the sky and also lift the carpets and see the ground!), there was no way she would pass the NCT test (irish version of the MOT) so I began to strip her down to rebuild.

Thanks to the FAQ's sections and all your comments on this Forum, this strip down process so far has proved to be straighforward. However; now that I am begining to think (sweat!) about the rebuild process I though it was time to come out of the 'woodwork' and say hello and also to say sorry in advance for all the questions I will in no doubt be asking you all over the coming months.

Once again, thank you for all the information provided by this web site and by the club. I am hoping to have the car ready for the National Meet in 07 and should the car be ready on time I look forward to meeting you all there.

Regards,

Leo.

Hi and welcome to this forum Leo.

I'm sure Gomer would welcome some words and maybe a couple of photos for the next magazine?...particularly as it sounds like you have a good story behind you and your car.

cheers joe :)
