Hi to all.
Thought I should post to say that I am a new owner (well, new in the sense that this is my first X1/9 since I sold my last one some 12 years ago!!). I am now the very proud owner of a red, 1987 1500. She's got a few problems, mainly bodywork (rust around both rear and front arches, just below drivers side windscreen and in front luggage compartment) and also no brakes (think the master cylinder needs a rebuild or replacing). Other than that, she's great!
Will be taking her off the road for the winter and starting work on a complete strip down and rebuild, so no doubt will be posting on here with questions and problems.
Look forward to geeting to know you all a bit better, and maybe meeting some of you at some point.
Cheers
NickB

Good luck with the project.
Oh and ask questions, i have found this site to be an excellent form of advice and help on all basic and complicated problems alike.
You can also bang on about how great the car is without being told your a bore shut up by the wife/partner or friends and family.

Hello and welcome Nick! - always nice to see new members emerge from the woodwork! Interesting too to note that you had an Exxy 12 years ago too, there seems to be a rising trend of returning owners many years down the line!

Welcome.
Don't forget to take lots of pics of the work you will be doing and post them here as we never tire of the efforts of anoher member tying to keep their car alive.
Cheers, Graeme.

Welcome Nick, and look forward to perhaps meeting you sometime in the new year. A bit like "born again bikers," it seems than x1/9 are definately a case of "once bitten" despite the time factor!

Hi Geoff,
Where abouts in Kent are you?
This is actually my fourth x1/9! My first was in 1983, another in 1986 and the last one I had from 1991-94. Really looking forward to getting my latest X rebuilt and running just as I want her to. Plans are already underway, so it's just a matter of actually getting down to it and starting the work that needs to be done!!
