New member on board - Hello everyone!

Hi There Just Thought I'd Say "Hello Everyone"

Firstly congratulations on the X1/9 owners club main site and this fantastic forum - Well Done All Involved.

As you've gathered, I am a new member... infact I'm still waiting patiently for my membership pack to arrive! Andy has reassured me that its on its way.... can't wait, I'm so excited!!

I had previously been a member some 10 years ago, when I owned my first W Reg exxy.... now all these years later, I've got the X1/9 bug again.

I am now the proud owner of an F Reg SE in Mica Red which does need some TLC but is on the road! I also have an E Reg VS in Black - no Mot and need loads and loads of work... but I am hoping this car will get back on the road in a year or two

Anyway... so far all the technical questions I had, have already been answered by looking through this forum, so thank you!

Hi Frosty.. Thanks for reply. I shall cetainly keep a look out for events in my area It will have to wait a little while ....the radiator's got to be removed for reconditioning..... it needs a service and definately a cambelt & tensioner replacement. I have no mechanical/ technical ability and my hubby will only tackle smaller jobs, so I am relying on a friend in the motor trade Obviously he only has limited time to help me but we will get there :lol:

The good news is you do not need to turn up in a X1/9

Yes frosty... but a Renault Clio... just does not seem the same!!

The Clio is my family car .... infact when my eldest daughter (aged 4) saw my exxy, she had a sad face.. I asked her what's wrong.."Your new car mummy", "No seat for me and my sister"... I reassured her that the Clio is "mums car too"

:lol: Happy Day!! My membership pack arrived today!! I cannot believe how excited I am over a few stickers!! Now off to study the mag :lol:

The SE got its new cambelt, tensioner, alternator belt and an oil and filter change today There was also a problem with a strong petrol smell which has been located to the fuel hoses... this is next weekends job

Well I am getting through these jobs on my SE. This morning, Hubby replaced the fuel hoses for me - no more petrol smell and the car is safe once again

The car is booked in at a local bodyshop tomorrow to be waxoiled. The bodyshop people told me, it would be £1500 just to respray the car and thats without sorting out the rust bubbles.. its a lot, lot extra for each rust area ... think I am in shock..... I only want to make my exxy beautiful
