X1/9 luggage was created by Steve Golab
OK, its not news or views, but I couldn't find a more suitable forum!
Does anyone know the dimensions of the holdalls that Fiat supplied with new cars all those years ago that fit in the rear boot? I'm trying to find something that will fit.
Also, can anyone tell me what size of suitcase will fit in the front boot?
Why don't I go measure I hear you say? Well car is in the garage awaiting a gearbox removal, as I lost 2nd, 4th & 5th coming back from European X1/9 meeting on Monday
TIA

Think that your looking at 27 inch suit case.which were done by Wollworths in red and with wheels christmass before last.Two/three types of hodalls have been doen for our little cars by fiat/Bertone.and for the even more sadders members, the club has also provided rear holdalls which were in a woven pvc material zips broke quicker than filling the bags

I'm in Caerphilly, not a million miles away from Yeovil.

If you want it you can have it for the same money I paid!

It's not as bad as it appears - I've been working in Holland since January, returning permanently at end of Sept, so it's not 'urgent' to get it fixed, just having to drive a Chevrolet Matiz rental makes it more urgent!

Your quite right, but at least saying "I drive a Chevy" means someone *might* think it's a 'Vette!!

I will be back for good at the end of Sept. Plan is fill car with my stuff, then asses the available space, stop a supermarket and fill up with beer (and cheese, bread apple syrup...! I'll get some old brown for you!

Latest news is a 2nd hand gearbox was expected yesterday - my bank account needs life support :(

Prob with Spit was the clutch release bearing carrier was worn - I was having to double de-clutch changing down AND up!
I've driven nearly 70k in the ALFA with no clutch/gear related problems, so I don't think it's the way I drive!
Should get the car back Weds :D . Then have to pay the bill  Then the hire car bill
