Hi,
Looking for some information from someone with a copy of Phil Wards book. Is there a photograph of a red eurosport conversion in the book? including a registration number? If so, there is slight possibility that the car in question currently belongs to me. Could somebody have a look for me please? The reg of my car is KJM 864W ( from memory ). Thanks.

Hi Dave,

Just checked my copy of Phil Ward's book. There is a colour photo (on page 89) of a red Eurosport conversion with registration 256GAR and a blue one reg NKJ666W, also both shown later in the book in black & white photos. There's also a Lido with reg YAP68T, which looks familiar: was it on eBay recently?

Cheers
Richard

Well, unless mine is 256 GAR and has been put back onto an age related plate then I can rule my car out of being famous for a day. Thanks for looking folks.

Hi Frosty, I bought the car in Bristol approx 2 years ago but there is a file of invoices for a Gareth Hughes who got MOTs etc etc done in Essex - does that shed any light?

Is John Metcalfe still a member of the club? He was in Torino in 93 along with Fred & Mary. Any info about his Eurosport car?

Ooops, that'll be 94 silly me, the Bertone X1/9 Day. Sorry about that, all these trips seem to become one for me...........just one long X1/9 over load :P or maybe the fact that I have had this passion to long.

Had a good look through all the paperwork, and found several MOTs with the reg 256 GAR and one stamped 'cherished plate transfer' in what looks like Feb 1993. So.........my car is in Phil Wards book! I have not seen the book yet but unfortunately I don't think the bodywork now is in quite the same condition as when the car was photographed. Gives me something to strive for.

15 minutes of fame! Well spotted Graeme. The black and white interior picture is from my car too - smaller steering wheel with bertone horn button plus the seats were trimmed in blue/grey check with matching door cards and rear bulkhead cover. The door cards and the seats have been replaced by myself, using ones that I have had for years. The bulkhead cover is still there - on the list of jobs to do.
Graeme - could you please still bring the book next weekend - would love to have a nosey?

My GF's in there too, G952SYW - a couple of exterior shots and the next page shows the interior...in a somewhat better condition than it is now!!!
