Sadly I've reached pretty much the same decision. The annual MoT welding time is approaching, but this time I've decided to sell the car. It's beginning to need work in areas that I've already had repaired before. My local body shop man (X1/9 owner) has retired and his replacement (non X1/9 owner) doesn't seem so keen to do the work and is more expensive. And I'm beginning to feel that I don't want to live any more with X1/9 parts in every room... I don't have a garage, so I can't put it in storage, and I'm sure that if I did it would stay there forever. So, I've put it on the dreaded ebay, hopefully the twin carbs, suspension etc will help it find a good home...
