Harrah for new forum! Can we please have the slide bars on the right hand side a different colour though, white on white's not very clear...or it it just me?

PS loosing the archive's sad, but then maybe we should have been writing magazine articles instead! Mental note - I keep promising to do that...

The problem with the "side bar", is that we can't find where to change it,
we both wasted allot of time trying!! I now use the up and down keys.

Avatar pics can be added by:

1) Going to your profile ( link at the top of every page first one second row)
2) About half way down the profile page is "Avatar control".
3) Upload in whichever way is best for you!!

Pictures in posts are a little more difficult. Anthony did a post on the subject, which can be found here

We will be updating the "instructions page", in the meantime I suggest you
bookmark this post until you are used to the new system.

To change the scrollbar, I *think* (can't be absolutely certain without seeing the file structure) you need to change the following text in the file templates/subSilver/overallheader.tpl:

scrollbar-face-color:FFFFFF; to

scrollbar-face-color:FF0000; (for a red scrollbar)

Better still, chop out the code between the <style>...</style> tags in that file, and add them to the templates/subSilver/xow.css file. Then all your page styles will be consolidated into one css. Unfortuately the skinning process in phpBB is not very logical...

If that doesn't work search all files for this term:

scrollbar-face-color:FFFFFF; and amend as necessary

Use something like Textpad to search the files, as Dreamweaver etc, might not recognise all the file suffices, like .tpl.

Psychobabble over now, returning you to your regular programming...

Best

Chris (who knows sod all about X1/9s)

I've noticed some talk about the white slider / slider bars being difficult to use.

If I've understood this correctly, then try using Mozilla Firefox instead of MS Internet Explorer. The slide bars are in blue (on my machine anyway)

I use Firefox because its significantly quicker than IE !!!

Cheers

Firefox ignores the sliderbar code, which only works in IE.

The code on these pages either needs correcting as I suggested, or removed altogether.

Just installed firefox and it's much better than IE. Not only does it appear faster but I don't get any popups now and the scrollbar works. It doesn't affect IE so you can use them both.
